The wind farm at Delabole in Cornwall was the first commercial wind power operation to come online in Britain, although it is now just one of the many. The numbers now run into three figures.
The farm consists of ten horizontal axis turbines supplied by the Danish company, Vestas. Each has a 400 kW capacity, bringing the farm's total capacity to 4MW.
Delabole states its exported output at 10,000 MWh, which the British Wind Energy Association rates at equivalent to supplying 2,237 homes. The farm also claims a COČ offset of 4,475 tonnes.
