associated engineer
Not known
date  1715
era  Georgian  |  category  Bridge  |  reference  NJ347124
A single-arched stone bridge over the River Don. This simple, semicircular arch was either designed or commissioned by John Forbes, whose name is on the bridge.
It carries a roadway 8ft wide across a calm stretch of the river between two weirs, and is constructed of rubble masonry between curving wing walls.
Reflected in the quiet water, the arch forms a perfect circle.
