This unusual masonry bridge was built by the masons of Croyland Abbey, possibly as a meditation on the Trinity.
The original bridge was built of timber in the 1oth century. The present stone version is a 14th century construction, made of limestone with three half-spans set at 120 degrees to each other, meeting at the apex of the bridge.
